Buzz about Pebble

Shibui has released a new lace yarn that has the web all abuzz.  Blogs and newsletters from yarn stores across the country are talking about Shibui’s Pebble and the exciting patterns that were recently published that make the most of this stunning yarn. pebblePebble is a blended yarn created with a trio of favorite fibers: 48% recycled silk, 36% fine merino, 16% cashmere.  This tweedy mélange creates a beautifully rustic yarn flecked with complex tonal colors. Pebble is light, airy, and irresistibly soft.  Shibui encourages us to try Pebble doubled or even tripled to match any gauge and imbue any project with its luscious tactile appeal. Each $19.25 skein includes 224 yards and is just 25 grams which indicates how light and lofty this new lace weight yarn is.Among the recently published patterns is the Peak hat and scarf. An $8 Ravelry download includes the patterns for both.  I have cast on for the scarf in the deep purple Grafitti color way, and hope to have that ready for you to see at the shop in a couple of weeks. pebble 02In the shop now, is the Cliff Hat (a FREE Ravelry download) that Kristin knit up for us as quick as a wink.  This snug beanie was knit up with 5 colors of the yarn held double stranded throughout.  Dawn has found at least four color combinations that would create stunning winter accessories. We can't wait to share the excitement we have about double stranding (and even triple stranding) a variety of the new Shibui yarns that have arrived in the shop.  Julie has a growing collection of swatches that can show you what each combination looks and feels like.We hope that you can stop in soon and see what all the fuss is about!
