We are delighted to be the first shop in the US to carry Tukuwool yarn from Finland!Tukuwool is made with a blend of Finnsheep and Finnsheep-Texel crossbreed.  It's 100% Finnish from sheep to yarn! Combining these two breeds produces a yarn that is a bit lofty for warmth, is soft and durable, and has a silky feel.  Patterns with stockinette, garter, knit/purl textures and colorwork show off Tukuwool's characteristics!When you hold this yarn upright in your hand, it stands straight up which tells you that it would be great for a hat, mittens, fingerless mitts or a sweater.If you'd like to make a cowl or shawl with it, a pattern using larger needles and a loose gauge would create the drape that is wanted.This fingering weight yarn is woolen spun; any project created with it will be lightweight and warm!We invite you to see and feel this unique yarn for yourself!
