The gals from Anzula came for a visit over the weekend and filled the shop with beauty. They are on the road this month making a Summer Yarn Tour across the country with a carload of suitcases that are filled to the brim with wonderful skeins of yarn and delightful samples that show off just how beautifully their yarns knit up! It was almost impossible to know where to start! Because of the washability of most of the Anzula yarns, these skeins can be used for everything from shawls to baby and toddler knits. We love the generous spectrum of colors that Anzula creates. Every hue we could imagine was on display! They set up their suitcases on every surface we could find; we even ended up filling the garden! It was the perfect day for a little picnic and we enjoyed breakfast burritos in the morning and finger sandwiches for lunch. The day was delightful! It gave us a chance to get our hands on some of the Anzula yarns that we don't normally stock. And as a result we will now be carrying Anzula Milky Way. This light fingering yarn is a 3-ply blend of 80% Milk Protein and 20% Superwash Merino. It looks like cotton, with a little extra shine, but it's springy and easy to work with like wool. Lighter than cotton or silk, Milky Way works up into a drapey fabric with a soft hand.Julie and Amelia have already cast on with it and love the feel of this new yarn. We hope that if you missed the fun this weekend, you'll stop by the shop when you can to check out some of the new additions we have in stock.
