Go Big!

As it turns out our love for chunky cowls was not a fleeting thing.  Last winter we found some terrific FREE patterns for chunky knits that could be crafted in a single afternoon.  (You can read more about those here.)And this month we have some new patterns to share with you that we think you are going to enjoy just as much.The Beginner Cowl is a great FREE pattern for new knitters.  Designed by the folks at the UK knitshop TOFT, this cowl can be quickly accomplished by double stranding two skeins of Fleece Artist Blue Face Leicester Aran yarn.  This yarn is as soft as butter and the finished ribbed cowl is delightfully snuggly.Another great pattern is the FREE Code: Armonika Cowl by Rutast Design.  We created this cowl with two skeins of Queensland Collection Kathmandu Aran Tweed which features a delightfully soft blend of 85% extra fine merino wool, 10% silk, and 5% cashmere.  It is irresistible.While we certainly don't want to rush you towards the holidays before you are ready, we know that many of you are eager to get your holiday knitting started.  And with chunky projects like these, you'll be ready in no time!Let us know if we can help find additional pattern ideas or the perfect yarn selections that will create unique hand crafted gifts that you can feel proud of.
