Our friend Helen dropped off a sample that is so wonderfully wearable that all of us have tried it on. You will want to as well. This is Arabella designed by Ann McCauley, and published in the newest Wool People Collection of Brooklyn Tweed. Jared Flood explains his vision for this recent collection in his introduction to the Wool People 7 Look Book: "The arrival of spring has never been more welcome than it is thisyear. A particularly long and harsh snow season has even the most staunch winter-lovers like me longing for lighter days and warmer temperatures. That longing for light certainly influenced our call to designers for a Wool People collection inspired by the bright and airy aesthetic of Japanese knitting books (one of my very favorite troves of inspiration)." Helen did wonderful justice to that vision, and the intention of the designer. She knit her sweater with 6 skeins of Isager's Alpaca 2, a 50/50 blend of downy soft alpaca and wool. This fingering weight yarn is a wonderful choice for a lightweight sweater that will drape beautifully and provide welcome warmth without bulky weight. The soft neutral color she chose to work with beautifully highlights the stitch pattern, and has assured her a perfect wardrobe addition that will be perfect for almost any occasion. We will be highlighting other samples from the Wool People 7 Collection, so keep checking back for more inspiration!
