Perhaps it’s just me, but long summer days have me dreaming of road trips; driving with the windows rolled down with an arm out to catch the breeze. If you don’t have the schedule that will allow you to make a break for it for several days at a time, hopefully you can squeeze in a one-day trip. There are two terrific events that are going to make Saturday June 29th a perfect day to getaway.
The Firefly Summer Market is coming June 29th & 30th to Twenty Ninth Street! Saturday, June 29, 10am-7pm and Sunday, June 30, 11am-5pm, with live music (and brews!) from 7-10pm on Saturday as part of the Twenty Ninth Street Live! series.
The market is an artisan street fair in the middle of 29th Street - relaxing and shopping among incredible handmade artisans, fun summer street festival inspired feel, yummy food and drinks provided by some of your favorite food trucks and market vendors.
And if you enjoy lobster and a bit of fun, you may want to check out the Niwot Lobster Bash on Saturday June 29th starting at 5pm. This delicious evening benefits the Niwot Fire Department, and these guys have become expert lobster steamers. They fly in a large number of lobsters especially for the evening, and close down the main street to allow for plenty of family tables. It is a bring your own everything kind of an evening and we’ve found that adding a big leafy green salad, some baguette, and a bit of watermelon for dessert makes the meal complete. Feel free to bring your own cold beer or crisp wine if that is to your taste. Live music completes the occasion, and you may find yourself shaking a tail feather before calling it a day.
Wherever your summer adventures take you, we wish you safe and fun adventures. Hopefully your travels will bring you to our door. Stop in and let us know about the highlights of your travels.
