A couple of weeks ago we posted about the projects that Theresa is knitting for her trip to the New York Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinbeck. That festival is now only 10 days away, and Theresa recently finished one of the shawls that was still on her needles when last checked in with her. This beautiful shawl is Love & Lemons designed by Melanie Berg. Theresa knit hers with 3 skeins of Baa Ram Ewe Titus, a fingering weight blend of 50% wensleydale longwool, 20% bluefaced leicester, and 30% alpaca. This yarn is silky soft and has a terrific stitch definition which makes the beautiful lace texture of this shawl readily apparent.Theresa wasn't the only one to finish a lengthy project last week, here you can see her modeling the new shop sample of Vector. This gradient shawl designed by Tanis Lavallee is part of the Brooklyn Tweed Wool People Vol. 7 collection published in April of this year. Our friend Krisitin created this shawl in warm tones of pink and terra cotta using 5 skeins of Madelinetosh merino light held together with 3 skeins of Shibui Silk Cloud. "Knit loosely on the bias in garter stitch with a crisp and simple slipped-stitch edging, (Vector) creates a plush, light fabric to drape you in effortless style."We love how the rich colors of our generous Madelinetosh pallet of colors combines with the soft halo of the Shibui mohair and silk blend to make a shawl that is as delightfully soft and comforting as it is dramatic and modern. We hope that you can stop into the shop to try our sample of Vector on. You may decide that either the larger shawl version of this pattern(seen on Theresa) or the smaller scarf version is your next project to cast on for!
