Sneak Peek

We are introducing a new yarn in the shop next week, and you are going to love it.  The Fibre Company has an amazing talent for blending fibers in just the right amounts to create yarn that is like nothing else on our shelves.  And they have done it again with their Canopy Worsted.  This lusciously soft yarn is a decadent blend of 50% Alpaca, 30% Merino, and 20% Bamboo.  These 100 gram skeins have 200 yards and cost $30.15 each. Our sample knitters have been stitching up a storm this summer so that we have a trunk show of sweaters and accessories to share with you, and each highlights the stunning possibilities of this yarn.  The projects all come from the pages of Botanical Knits.  This book features 12 designs by Alana Dakos inspired by trees and foliage.  What better way to welcome fall into our project plans? To peak your curiosity I thought I would share a photo of one of the beauties that we’ll be featuring in the shop over the next several weeks. entagled vines afterThis is Entangled Vines knit up by Bich-thu with several skeins of the River Dolphin color.  This simple cardigan is made far more interesting with the beautiful cable details on the sleeves.  As you can see, the yarn’s soft sheen makes her stitches pop.  You will probably have to come see this sweater in person to be able to see how subtle the beautiful color is, and how wonderfully soft it is to the touch. All of our knitters are raving about this yarn; and I can add my voice to theirs.  I worked up a scarf that I didn’t want to finish.  I haven’t enjoyed the feel of yarn so rich in months, and I can’t wait to use it for another project. We have more photos to share with you next week, and the shop will be filled with beautiful samples that showcase Fibre Company's Canopy Worsted.  We hope that you can stop by before the end of the month to take a look at what we've been working on, as well as the beautiful skeins in all kinds of colors that will surely get you eager to cast on for something of your own!
