A sneaky success

Last Friday Sandy from Shibui brought the Spring/Summer 2015 collection of samples to the shop to show is what Shibui has in store of us.  The patterns for most of the samples that she brought have not yet been released, so we counted ourselves very lucky to be among the first to see what's coming.Once again we were blown away by the simple and elegant designs that make the most of the yarns and fibers that we so enjoy working with. shibui trunk 03You may have already seen Nancy O'Connell's Cirrus that made it's debut on Ravelry last week.  This fun pullover is even more mouthwatering in person.  Take our word for it.  The combination of a single strand of Pebble paired with Silk Cloud creates a downy soft and light as a cloud fabric with wonderful drape. shibui trunk 01Sandy's samples have the look of elegant fashion with the kind of effortless grace.  The result of phenomenal construction and design creates simple pieces that could be a wardrobe staple of yours for years. Many of our friends who visited thought these garments reminded them of Eileen Fisher pieces and delighted at the thought of being able to make something so stylish themselves! shibui trunk 04Sandy was wonderful; answering all our questions about fit and sizing, offering thoughtful suggestions and finding the perfect yarn selections from her mini skeins of all the Shibui offerings.  She gave us the chance to see new colors as well as a new Shibui yarn (Twig) that will be available in upcoming weeks.Virtually all of us came away with a project (or two) that we can't wait to get started on.  We want to thank all of you who were able to join the fun and hope that if you weren't available, that you'll stop by to see the Monochrome Trunk Show that will be on display for the remainder of this this week. We'll be hard at work knitting up samples of some of what Sandy shared with us.  When they are ready for display you'll be among the first to know and you may fall in love with these designs just as we have.
