Stephen West makes knitting fun!

Stephen West is a terrific designer.  He may be best known for his shawls, and his published pattern collections that have included some My Sister Knits favorites such as: Itaca, Bolting, and Spectra. He is also well known in the Ravelry community for creating one of a kind Mystery Knit Along projects that are a pleasure to work.  Each week of the event, new clues are sent out to participants, providing the directions needed to complete the next part of the project.  It can be a little thrilling to dive into a project not knowing what the final outcome will look like.  And the regular distribution of clues is a great incentive to keep on track with your progress.  This year’s mystery KAL is complete, but you can now purchase the complete shawl pattern on Ravelry.  (So for those of you who prefer not to work on the unknown, let us introduce you to this year's shawl.) color craving1This is the Color Craving Shawl knit up by our friend Jenny in three colors of Sunshine Yarn Classic Sock Yarn.  As spectacular as this shawl looks spread out so that you can get a feel for its shape and size, we like it even better when it’s wrapped around shoulders. color craving2The beautiful drape, the dynamic garter stitch stripes, and the peekaboo lace work all combine for a sophisticated shawl that is certain to be a show stopper. We hope that you can stop by to try this beauty on.  It feels wonderful, and it was made to play with.  We've enjoyed trying different ways of wrapping up in its length.  You may be convinced to cast on for this project, or to keep your eyes peeled for Stephen's next knit along.
