Our fun with Sunshine Yarns is in full swing this week. We have five kinds of yarn spanning lace weight to sport weight, beautifully dyed by Dani of Boulder based Sunshine Yarns. The colors that she has provided are stunning and we are having a very difficult time choosing a favorite. It’s hard to say of the kits we created that feature these skeins are making that decision easier or more difficult. On Tuesday we introduced the Colorblock Handwarmers created by the talented design team of the Purl Bee. These kits feature four mini skeins of Sunshine Yarns Classic Sock Yarn and are $35. This superwash merino wool is a joy to work with creating crisp stitches that highlight the beautiful colors. The handwarmers will be machine washable when knit up with this yarn which can make them very useful and an easy to care for gift. Wednesday we introduced Veera Välimäki's Contemporary hat. The sample was created with just less than a single skein of Sunshine Merino Sport. This is another machine washable yarn with 225 yards in each 100g skein. Our kits includes a skein of your choice of color, a copy of the pattern and is $40. Thursday we introduced Derecho. Dawn created our sample and fell in love with the feel of the Sunshine Luxury Sock yarn that she used. We have created kits in four color ways that are $75. This yarn is beautifully soft with a touch of cashmere that makes the garter stitch fabric of this shawl something that you want to scrunch into. Today we are celebrating silk. Our Henslowe was created with a single skein of Sunshine Sunsilk. This 100% silk yarn is glossy, and seems super saturated with lush color. Our kits are $55 and include a pattern, and a skein of Sunsilk in your choice of color. And tomorrow our week of Sunshine kits will culminate with Veronik Avery’s Snowflake Stole. This Brooklyn Tweed pattern makes the most of Dani’s Ultraluxe Light, a single ply yarn with a blend of 75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, and 10% Silk. Our kit includes two skeins in your choice of color and is $75.We hope that you can stop by the shop tomorrow because we have a little celebration planned that we think that you’d enjoy. Dani of Sunshine Yarns will be joining us briefly around noon so that you can get a chance to meet her, and talk color with our favorite local dyer. We’ll have light refreshments to share with you including mini hand pies made here in Fort Collins by another local favorite of ours: Me Oh My Pies.Your visit will give you a chance to see all the beautiful new yarn we have in stock, check out our limited edition kits, and try on some of the gorgeous samples we have that all feature beautiful Sunshine Yarns.
