We have new Freia in the Shop

The shop is bursting with new yarns this summer! Our latest is Freia Fine Handpaints Super Bulky; a single ply 100% wool blend from Rambouillet, Corriedale and Columbia sheep raised right here in Colorado. It's a single ply so it will knit up light and airy, and be nice and warm. This yarn is available in their hand painted Ombre color range which has extra long gradual color changes of 5 colors. One of our favorites is a colorway introduced for the spring of 2016, Canyon, which uses colors ranging from copper to turquoise.freia canyon colorwayFreia is a small California based company with only a handful of employees, in fact the company is named for their Chesapeake Bay Retriever! They were established in 2010 with the goal of keeping their environmental footprint as small as possible which is a quality we admire. One of the ways they accomplish this is by using exclusively US sourced fibers which means that all of their yarns are made in the US.freia-cowl-on-Lisa-try-2Julie used the colorway Melon to make the LTYC Super Bulky Cowl in about an hour; and our friend Lisa was happy to model it.  Julie liked seeing the colors change so much that she couldn't put it down until she was finished!freiaThis yarn is exactly what is needed for a quick, satisfying project and we have a wide selection of colorways for you to choose from!
