The newest pattern from Ysolda's Knitworthy Knit Along arrived in our inbox earlier this week. Hediye is a lovely two-toned shawl a beautiful cable border. "The edging is worked first, and then stitches for the center are picked up along one of the long edges and decreased towards the top.The cable patterns on the edging would be an excellent introduction to cabling and a good place to practice cabling without a cable needle. No crossings involve more than a total of 4 stitches and the pattern is intuitive to follow. Short rows are worked into each repeat so that the outer edge is longer.Hediye is shown in two colors but would be equally beautiful in a single color or you could get creative and play with stripes or color blocking in the center triangle." Our friend and neighbor Kristin is going to be casting on for this project using two colors (and three skeins) of our newest arrival, Shibui Maai.We love the beautiful contrast of the plum and mustard tones that she selected. This yarn is going to create a deliciously soft shawl and the chain construction of the yarn is going to ensure that Kristin's cables look their best! We'll share photos of her finished shawl when it comes off her needles with you and the Ravelry Group Ysolda established. Knowing Kristin, we won't have long to wait.We hope that you'll pop by our shop and let us find a terrific project for you to start that just may end up as a gift for someone you love this holiday season.
