Summer Classes
If you are interested in participating in any of the classes, please call the shop at 970-407-1461 to register. Please pay attention to class limits as they will fill up quickly. Class fees will be due upon sign up to hold your place in the class. If you sign up for a project-based class that includes a kit, please come by the shop beforehand to pick up your supplies and yarn.
Long Tail Provisional Cast On
When: June 26th and July 17th (Tuesdays) at 6:30pm, Instructor: Julie
Cost: FREE!
Julie will demonstrate one kind of provisional cast on for anybody that wants to learn. Come by the shop for open knitting and a little lesson.
The Guernsey Wrap by Jared Flood 
When: July 10th and 17th (Tuesdays) from 6-7pm, Instructor: Katie H.
Cost: $100.00 (includes pattern and yarn)
This is an intermediate class taught by Katie H. The Guernsey Wrap is a beautiful wrap for either men or women. The yarn chosen for this project is Swans Island Worsted; you will need three skeins. Please come by the shop prior to the class to pick out your yarn and see a sample if this wrap. Skills used: cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, reading a chart, and binding off. Class limit: 5.
The Panoramic Stole from Coastal Knits 
When: July 14th (Saturday) from 10-11:30am, Instructor: Katie H.
Cost: $90.00 (includes the book Coastal Knits and yarn)
Join Katie H. for one session to get this intermediate level stole started. Coastal Knits is a new book with many beautiful projects. The class will be using two skeins of Swans Island Fingering; come by the shop early to see a sample of this stole knit up and to pick out your yarn in advance. Skills used: cast on, knit stitch, two kinds of decreases, yarn over, short rows, and bind off. Class limit: 5.
Beginning Knitting Lunch and Learn 
When: July 14th and 21st (Saturdays) from 12-1:30pm, Instructor: Kate S.
Cost: $45.00 (includes yarn and supplies)
Join Kate to get started knitting. During the first session, you will learn to cast on and knit. The second session will cover learning to purl, bind off, and seam. Please bring your own lunch. Class limit: 5.
Jane Austin Hat 
When: July 28th and August 4th (Saturdays) from 10-11am, Instructor: Katie H
Cost: $55.00 (includes the new magazine Jane Austin Knits and the yarn)
Katie H. will lead this hat class using one skein of Madeline Tosh DK yarn. This is a great hat for you or to give. Stop by the shop to see samples of the hat already made. Skills used: cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, knitting in the round, increases, decreases, bind off, and finishing. Class limit: 5. Please come by the shop prior to the class to pick the color of your new hand made hat.
Beginning Crochet: Circular Placemats 
When: August 11th (Saturday) from 10-11:30am, Instructor: Julie
Cost: $30.00 (includes pattern and yarn- enough for 2 placemats)
Julie will lead this class to learn to chain and double crochet to create a round placemat. The pattern is from one of MSK’s favorite blogs- Purl Bee.
Britt Poncho 
When: August 18th and 25th (Saturdays) from 10-11am, Instructor: Katie H.
Cost: $100.00 (includes pattern and yarn)
Join Katie H. for two Saturday mornings to get this easy knit poncho started. Five skeins of The Fibre Company’s Tundra yarn, a luxurious bland of alpaca, merino wool, and silk, will be used for this project. Stop by the shop to see samples of the poncho already made. Skills used: cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, increases, a tiny bit of crochet, and bind off. Class limit: 5. Please come by the shop prior to the class to pick out the color of your yarn.
