Dawn's Cap Sleeve Lattice Top

Dawn finished two projects last week.  The first, her Bronntanas by Ysolda Teague was the work of less than a week of knitting.  The second was the work of a whole summer.  She started the Cap Sleeve Lattice Top in May.We hope that we have a few warm days of an Indian Summer over the next several weeks so that Dawn can enjoy this beautiful top before storing it away for next year. lattice top 01She used three skeins of Madelinetosh Dandelion using size US 5 needles. This delightful blend of 90% Merino and 10% Linen is soft to the touch and lightweight.  It is a perfect choice for summer knits.  We love how the linen in the yarn adds some crisp stitch definition that makes that lattice pattern at the yoke look like a million dollars. lattice top 02Since she selected a fingering weight yarn instead of the sport weight specified by the pattern, she did a gauge swatch and made some stitch count adjustments to ensure a proper fit.We know that sometimes the perfect yarn choice is not the one recommended by the pattern.  If you run into a similar situation, let us help you with gauge questions.  We'd love to help you make your project perfect!Beautifully done Dawn!  And a big thank you to her husband Harold for the lovely photos.
