Shibui Mix No. 27

Our friend Bich-Thu recently finished an amazing project that beautifully illustrates how wonderful Shibui yarns and patterns are.  When paired together, something very special usually results. image_medium2bHere you can see Bich-Thu's daughter Claire modeling this breezy summer tank.  This version of Lori Versaci's Mix No. 27 is knit up with two colors of Shibui Linen yarn.  Bich-Thu used graphite and Poppy for a beautiful contrast."This striped, sleeveless shell reinvigorates a love for simple stitches. Garter stripes presented on the wrong side create a new spin on marled fabric. The structured front is balanced with a breathable, slightly-sheer back. image_medium2aThis shell is knit using 2 strands of Linen held together for the front panel and upper back, but only 1 strand for the lower back."  A close look at the fabric near Claire's waist makes it easy to spot the shift in the fabric.  Bich-Thu says that the bottom of the shell is light and swingy due to the single strand of yarn that is used there. She writes on her project page that the pattern is a clever design.  Lor's patterns often are.  This may be just the thing to work on for one last light and breezy summer knit before Fall.We hope that you can stop into the shop to check out our beautiful selection of Linen.  We would  love to help you select a great color combination that will be as much fun to work with as it will be to eventually wear!.
