I think that each of us in the shop have worked at least one project with this deliciously soft yarn. Dawn created a Cinder scarf, that is very hard to take off once you’ve tried it on. Julie made one of her darling Baby Frocks out of it (this cute pattern is a very quick knit and requires only a single skein).

Danielle created a beautiful Skadi with a drape that you wouldn’t believe. She says that it is her Mom’s favorite cowl to borrow when she visits. And Katie taught a sold out Britt Poncho class last August to a group of knitters who are still returning to the shop to cast on for new ponchos that they are giving as gifts to their friends and family. I cast on to make Huit and enjoyed working with the yarn so much that I ended up casting on for this.
Tundra is an incredibly soft, bulky weight alpaca blend of 60% Alpaca, 30% Merino, and 10% Silk. The alpaca keeps this yarn warm, merino wool adds resiliency, and a touch of silk gives sheen and a hint of drape to the finished fabric. It is a 2-ply yarn with a slight halo effect. Tundra is perfect for one-skein accessories as well as sweaters and cold weather items. The stitch definition created by the silk content of the yarn is gorgeous and the soft feel can’t be beat. Ravelry is full of projects created with this yarn and it is a perfect choice for soft wearable accessories that will be a treat for you or a perfect gift.
Stop in this Wednesday when skeins are on sale at less than $18 each. We can help you find a beautiful color and get you cast on for a project that you will enjoy on the needles almost as much as off.
