Wednesday Skill Sessions(June)

For the month of June, we are offering free one-hour long skill sessions; touching on some techniques that are often needed in our knitting. For all of these sessions, please bring light colored worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles to practice with.

6/5- Ravelry Basics - with Tiina

6/12- Mattress Stitch - with Jenny H. Using two gauge swatches, we will practice seaming the two together using the mattress stitch. before the class - Using a light colored worsted weight yarn, knit two gauge swatches 15 stitches wide and 15 rows tall. Bind off both swatches. Bring swatches, the yarn that you used to class. Additional supplies needed - Darning needle, locking stitch markers  Bring your homework and your set of barber cords to class.

6/19 -DPN Hat Closures - with Jenny H. We will practice knitting small circumferences using DPNs. This is a skill that comes in handy at the top of hats and mittens. Homework before class - Using a light colored worsted weight yarn, cast on 40 stitches. Join to work in the round and knit for two inches. Bring your homework to class. Additional supplies needed - DPNs in the same size that you used for your swatch, darning needle.

6/26 - Sweater Construction - Tiina
