Travel knitting

At the New Year, Kate resolved to postpone starting any new projects until she completed all of the projects that she has begun.  In a flurry of organizing she found 13(?!) projects on the needles in various stages of completion.  She's been working away at them one at a time and has already completed two sweaters in 3 weeks. Her Lila is in the shop and her [BIG]rubble is blocking.Kate is headed to a tropical paradise later this week to visit her family and so is looking at about 18 hours of travel time.  With that much time to knit, selecting which project(s) to bring along becomes a more pressing decision than what else to put in her suitcase. She's decided to take along another couple of projects that are on the needles. © amachaelWhen our friend Amy brought her completed Carpino into the shop last winter all of us wanted to cast on for this sweater.  Both Kate and Dawn are working on versions that are sure to be just as beautiful.  Kate's version is a heathery brick red created with two strands of Shibui Pebble held together throughout. And just because variety offers the spice of life, Kate is also planning on bringing along her Jet Stream shawl that she is working on with Habu A-1 2/17 Tsumugi Silk.  This will be the perfect shawl to wear for warm weather, and perhaps she'll make enough progress that she'll be able to cast off before returning home...Do you have any travel plans that will take you to warmer weather this winter? And what will you take with you to work on when you go?
